The 2016 vintage of the “Golden Egg” is a blend of 40% Mourvedre, 37% Grenache and 23% Syrah. Each varietal was aged separately for 12 months, then blended together. The final assemblage was aged a further 6 months before bottling (aged in a combination of large oak vats, in a concrete egg, and in French and American oak barriques).
